Pressure tank used as a foodstuff tank
Pressure builds up in the anaerobic digestions tank during beer brewing which the tank needs to balance. A pressure tank may therefore also be what is known as an anaerobic digestion or beer tank. The name depends on what it’s used for. Pressure tanks are also used to produce sparkling and semi-sparkling wine.
Functions of pressure tanks
The pressure inside a pressure tank is always higher than the pressure outside. For this reason, there are various requirements for pressure tanks that they must meet. They come in various forms which can be chosen depending on what they will be used for. We also offer temperature-controllable pressure tanks in different sizes.
Additional uses of pressure tanks
Pressure tanks can also be used to treat water. In the chemical industry, it must be ensured when using environmentally harmful substances that the tank is properly supported and the liquids are unable to enter the groundwater. For this reason, we recommend a location far away from drains and, if possible, a retention basin which can catch the liquid if needed and thus prevent more serious damage.
Cleaning pressure tanks
Cleaning a pressure tank completely depends on its contents. In the case of foodstuffs, the cleaning process must be thorough so that, when brewing beer for example, no residue remains from the anaerobic digestion process. Pressure tanks in the chemical industry should be particularly carefully cleaned, too. If a pressure tank contains residue of a substance, said residue may react with a new substance.
Proper cleaning also benefits the lifespan of a tank.

Wassertank dient in der Regel der drucklosen Speicherung von Wasser, beispielsweise als Vorrats- oder Zwischenspeicher. Ein hingegen ist für den Betrieb unter Überdruck konstruiert und geprüft – etwa für Anwendungen in der Wasseraufbereitung. Im Bereich der Chemieindustrie ist bei Stoffen, die die Umwelt gefährden, darauf zu achten, dass der Tank sicher steht und die Flüssigkeiten keine Möglichkeiten haben, in die Nähe des Grundwassers zu gelangen. Aus diesem Grund empfehlen wir einen Standort weit entfernt von einem Abfluss und nach Möglichkeit mit einem Rückhaltebecken, dass im Notfall die Flüssigkeit auffangen kann und so größere Schäden verhindert.
Die Reinigung von Drucktanks ist entscheidend und richtet sich nach dem vorherigen und dem geplanten Einsatzzweck. In der Lebensmittelindustrie, etwa beim Bierbrauen, müssen sämtliche Rückstände – z. B. aus der Gärung – entfernt werden, um Verunreinigungen des Produktes zu vermeiden. In der Chemieindustrie ist besondere Sorgfalt geboten, da chemische Rückstände mit neuen Stoffen reagieren und Risiken verursachen können.
